As the newspaper writes, in this way Astrum intends to expand the audience of the 4Game digital game store. At the same time, the service will face competition with similar platforms for streamers – Boosty and Donation Alerts.
According to Kommersant, Astrum LLC has registered the AdvertDA website, which allows you to monetize streams (live broadcasts).
“Previously, similar functionality was offered by the Donation Alerts platform, which belongs to My.Games and closed advertising monetization for the region,” said Sergey Efremov, CEO of Astrum. Streamer Maxim “JeySunTV” Dvoryanchikov said that there are no problems with receiving rewards from viewers from Russia in Donation Alers.
Prior to the start of the special operation, streamers monetized their content through foreign platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. The first platform is no longer rewarding views from Russian viewers, as Google has suspended advertising in Russia, and the second is not paying money to Russian streamers.
“In light of the extraordinary circumstances, we are suspending Google advertising in Russia. The situation is evolving rapidly and we will continue to share updates as needed,” Google said in March 2022.
In March 2022, Twitch, the most popular streaming platform in Russia, announced the suspension of payments to Russian streamers: the service is owned by the American company Amazon.
In August 2022, the VK Play playground (part of VK) launched a new streaming service, VK Play Live, its representative told Vedomosti. Streamers receive 90% of the revenue from paid subscriptions, while the service will keep only 10% as a commission.
