The number of organic producers in Russia increased by 46% in 2022

The number of organic producers in 2022 increased from 100 to 146, said TASS press service of Roskachestvo.
According to the agency, at present, the number of valid certificates of organic products exceeds 200. According to the federal law on organic products, which entered into force on January 1, 2020, producers are required to certify organic products and be included in the Unified Register of Organic Producers of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The press service told the agency that in 2022, five regions registered the first production of organic products. Among them are the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Republic of Udmurtia, the Leningrad Region, the Primorsky Territory and the Republic of Bashkortostan. In Russia, producers of organic rice, asparagus and some types of berries, in particular cloudberries and princesses, received the first certificates.
The leaders in the number of certified organic products in Russia are producers of cereals (30% of the total), vegetables (18.3%), livestock products (16%) and animal feed (15%).
