The Ministry of Transport has prepared a draft document allowing the replacement of foreign aircraft parts with non-original ones. The document notes that such spare parts will be manufactured “according to the procedures of countries that are leading in the global aviation community.” Specific countries are not listed in the document. Project posted on the portal of legal acts.
The draft resolution states that the domestic production of spare parts for aircraft and their certification “will take a significant time, which exceeds the operating time of many components.”
The document also proposes to repair aircraft according to the documentation developed by organizations of countries recognized as leaders in the global aviation community. This also applies to countries that do not develop aircraft operated in Russia.
In March, after the introduction of EU sanctions that prohibit the supply of aircraft to Russia and repair, the Ministry of Transport began study the possibility of producing auto parts for aircraft in Russia.
In June, former Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov admittedthat foreign aircraft will have to be dismantled for parts as the airliners become obsolete. According to him, the Russian aviation industry will live according to this scheme for about five years. In July, Russia agreed to import aircraft equipment with Iran. Sources Reuters said in August that Aeroflot and other airlines had already begun to dismantle aircraft for spare parts.
