The Ministry of Transport plans to increase quotas for discounted air tickets for Kaliningrad residents

The Ministry of Transport of Russia and the Federal Air Transport Agency are working to revise the system of preferential tariffs in order to increase the number of quotas on preferential air tickets for residents of the Kaliningrad region, the press service of the Ministry of Transport told Kommersant.
The department recalled that Aeroflot, which occupies almost 43.8% of the market for subsidized transportation in the Kaliningrad direction, continues to sell tickets at “flat” fares on the Moscow-Kaliningrad line. The press service clarified that the cost of the one-way fare is 6.4 thousand rubles, round trip – 10,650 rubles, including transportation of one piece of luggage.
“Flat” fares are fares with a fixed price for air tickets, which does not depend on the date of purchase and season; they are valid throughout the year. Air tickets at flat fares are cheaper than tickets at the minimum fare; they can be purchased for both one-way and round-trip flights, but it is prohibited to return or change travel dates.
The Ministry of Transport added that during the period of review of the system, other air carriers providing subsidized transportation to Kaliningrad are prohibited from increasing ticket fares on the relevant destinations.

The President said that the governor of the region, Anton Alikhanov, had previously made such a proposal.
