Beeline called it illogical to remove cellular stations near schools

Mobile operator Beeline called it illogical to dismantle cell towers that are located next to educational institutions. Earlier, Rospotrbnadzor for Dagestan reported that the court ordered the VimpelCom company to remove the station, which was installed next to a school in the city of Kaspiysk.

“A ban on the installation of base stations in certain locations entails a deterioration in communication coverage, and in some places the connection may disappear altogether. This may affect not only the educational institutions themselves, but also the territories closest to them… A ban on the placement of base stations based on the location of their installation seems illogical and inappropriate,” the mobile operator explained to RIA Novosti.

Beeline added that regulation of this area should be based on scientifically proven facts, and not on “unjustified prohibitions based on territorial principles.” Digitalization becomes at risk with such restrictions, the operator clarified.

The press service of the Ministry of Digital Development told RIA Novosti that local residents complained about the cellular station located near the school, fearing the negative impact of radiation on children. The court ordered the operator to dismantle the station, explaining the decision as a “violation of sanitary and epidemiological legislation.”
