The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade called on supermarkets to return newspapers and magazines to their shelves. In case of refusal to sell them, the department threatened to introduce regulatory regulation and assign places for periodicals in stores, reported press service ministries.
“If difficulties arise during the interaction between the regulator and retail, a solution will be found,” the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized. In order for newspapers and magazines to remain on sale, retailers need to establish cooperation with publishers, the department believes.
In January, due to the reduction and even complete exclusion of printed products from the range of retail chains, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed increasing sales channels through a new standard – an index of the provision of regions with specialized points of sale, including non-stationary ones.
