Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, believes that the share of domestic aircraft drones in the Russian Federation should grow from the current 22% to 70% by 2030, in general, the country intends to achieve technological sovereignty in their production.
“The key goal is to create a full-fledged industry for the use of civilian drones and achieve technological sovereignty in the field of their production. The strategy defines priority areas for the development of unmanned aircraft, annual targets, market parameters, a list of necessary measures,” said Mr. Osmakov (quoted from press service Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation).
Earlier today, June 28, the Russian government approved strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft until 2030. According to this document, over the next six and a half years, a new branch of the economy related to the creation and use of civilian drones should be formed in Russia.
Vladimir Putin repeatedly called the industry is “the most important area of the country’s activity” and estimated its volume at 1 trillion rubles, and also proposed to start teaching drone control in schools. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Andrey Belousov saidthat the government wants to develop a system of tax incentives for drone manufacturers, similar to IT companies. The Federal Air Transport Agency will create an analogue of Flightradar24 for drones.
