The Ministry of Finance raised the minimum retail price for sparkling wines

From January 1, 2023, the minimum retail price (MRP) for sparkling wines in Russia will rise to 239 rubles. for 0.75 l, follows from the order of the Ministry of Finance. Document published on the portal of legal information.
Currently, the MRP for sparkling wines is 169 rubles. Thus, the cost of this type of alcohol for 0.75 liters will increase by 41.4%. In addition, the ministry increased the wholesale price of sparkling wine by 45.2%, from 137 rubles to 137 rubles. up to 199 rubles, the document says.
The order comes into force on January 1, 2023 and will last until December 31, 2028.
Currently, Russia has established MRC for strong drinks (vodka, cognac, whiskey, etc.), as well as for champagne and sparkling wines. For example, the minimum price of 0.5 liters of vodka is 261 rubles, and cognac – 480 rubles. Sparkling wines in stores cost at least 169 rubles. for 0.75 l.
In September, the Ministry of Finance also offered increase the MRP for vodka and cognac. The ministry considered that the minimum retail price for a half-liter bottle of vodka should rise from 261 rubles. up to 281 rubles, for cognac – from 480 rubles. up to 517 rubles. for 0.5 l, and for brandy – from 349 rubles. up to 375 rubles
In November, Izvestia, citing Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov wrotethat the department is also working on options for establishing the MRP for all types of alcohol, including beer and still wines.
