The Russian Ministry of Digital Development reported that the Ministry of Finance has agreed on a draft resolution to increase the total limit on IT mortgages by 200 billion rubles, to 700 billion rubles. The Ministry of Digital Development expects that additional funds will arrive in banks in April.
“The draft resolution to increase the total limit on IT mortgages to 700 billion rubles has been approved by the Ministry of Finance and has already been submitted to the Russian Government. We expect the document to be signed in the near future,” the ministry’s press service reported in Telegram channel.
In February, the Ministry of Finance reported that some banks had reached their limits on IT mortgages. April 1 VTB Bank announced about the suspension of the benefit program.
The preferential IT mortgage program was launched in 2022. The rate on it is 5%. The maximum mortgage amount was 18 million rubles. for the purchase of housing in cities with a population of over a million and 9 million rubles. in settlements with a population of less than 1 million people.
