The Ministry of Energy currently does not detect any problems with fuel supply in the country, said the head of the department, Nikolai Shulginov. According to him, the ministry “looks to the future with optimism.”
“We don’t have any problems with fuel supply. We see that prices on the stock exchange are declining,” Mr. Shulginov said in an interview with Rossiya 24 (quoted by TASS).
As he clarified, the increase in fuel reserves ranged from 10 to 25%. “For diesel fuel this is more than 3 million tons, for gasoline – 2.1. Therefore, we look to the future with optimism, but, of course, we have learned lessons. We must control and make decisions more quickly,” the minister concluded.
Last month, wholesale gasoline prices fell by 14-15%, returning to the level at the beginning of the year. On November 17 and 22, the authorities lifted the ban on the export of gasoline and the export of summer diesel fuel. The embargo on the export of winter diesel fuel from Russia remains in effect. In December, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed oil companies and the Ministry of Energy to agree on a schedule for the production of winter diesel fuel for the entire demand season.
