The Ministry of Economy reported that the budget does not include money for tourist and children’s cashback

The tourist and children’s cashback program will not resume this year, the Center for Strategic Research (CSR), whose council is headed by the head of the Ministry of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov, said. The department itself recalled that the funds for this program are not included in the budget for 2023-2025.
“To date, the extension of the cashback program is not provided, including due to the fact that the tourism industry is showing growth,” said the CSR “Izvestia”. According to the center, restarting the program is irrational, since “the federal budget deficit requires stricter prioritization.” Director of the Department of Socio-Economic Research of the Center for Strategic Research Mikhail Gordeev suggested that in the future, cashback will be restarted as a measure to support the poor.
The Ministry of Economy recalled that cashback was a temporary anti-crisis measure. Now, even without the program, “booking of tourist vouchers and vouchers to children’s camps for the coming seasons are active,” the agency noted.
The issue of extending the cashback remained in limbo after the liquidation of Rostourism. As Kommersant learned earlier, market participants asked the government to extend the children’s tourist cashback program for 2023 by allocating funds from the federal budget.
