The Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation is working on Russia’s accession to the UN framework agreement on a simplified system of doing business in the Asia-Pacific region (APR). This was announced by the director of the department of multilateral economic cooperation and special projects of the Ministry of Economy Natalia Stapran. According to her, documents for the ratification of the agreement have been submitted to the government. Russia is expected to become a party to the treaty by the end of 2023.

“In particular, the ministry initiated work on joining the UN framework agreement, which is dedicated to a simplified system of doing business and cross-border paperless trade in the Asia-Pacific region,” Ms. Stapran said following the results of the XIII Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club in St. Petersburg (quote from TASS).

The largest integration groupings are concentrated in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and members of large organizations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), BRICS, G20, G7.
