The Ministry of Economy announced the postponement of the introduction of “Electronic vouchers” for tour operators

The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia supported the business proposal to postpone the start date for the mandatory use of outbound tourism by tour operators of the Electronic Voucher system. About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the ministry.
“Electronic voucher” is a state information resource with data on vouchers, designed to ensure the transparency of participants in the markets of outbound, inbound and domestic tourism. The use of the resource for outbound tourism tour operators was to become mandatory from September 1. For tours within the framework of domestic and inbound tourism, a delay was made until September 1, 2024.
“According to the results of consultations with tour operators, the deadline will be postponed. Now there will be no penalties for the fact that the company does not provide data in the prescribed form, ”the Ministry of Economics said.
At the same time, the ministry did not specify to what date the introduction of the “Electronic Voucher” is postponed.
Earlier on August 31, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) Ilya Umansky informed RTN that the onset of liability for tour operators for not transferring data to the system can be postponed to November 15, and the travel industry will receive time to test the system. The term of liability, recalled in the PCT, has already been postponed – from September 1, 2022 to September 1, 2023.
In June, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) applied to the Ministry of Economic Development with a request to postpone the introduction of the “Electronic Voucher” for at least a year due to the threat of hacking. “Electronic ticket” will store both the personal data of Russians and the details of tourist trips, which makes this amount of data attractive to hackers, ATOR noted.
