The Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will consider reducing the cost of an electronic visa to Russia, which currently costs $52. This was announced by Nikita Kondratyev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Ministry of Economy.

“There is a task, based on the results of the session, which was held on tourism under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, to work on the issue of reducing the cost of an electronic visa,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the EEF.

Mr. Kondratyev assured that foreigners do not have problems paying for a visa. “From any country that is part of 55 countries, you can safely pay in national currency,” added the representative of the Ministry of Economy.

On August 1, Russia launched an electronic visa service for citizens of 55 countries, including China, India, Iran, Turkey, as well as EU countries. The application must be submitted no later than 4 days before the visit to Russia. This visa is suitable for tourist and business trips, its validity is 60 days from the date of issue, and the period of stay is limited to 16 days from the date of entry.
