The Ministry of Digital Development is considering a refusal to block sites with unlicensed video content from Western companies, a source said. “RIA News”. The issue is being worked out with industry participants. It is assumed that they can allow the publication of content that is not legally represented in the Russian Federation and does not contain extremist materials and LGBT propaganda.
“Such video content should not be legally presented in Russian online services, should not be in theaters and should not contain extremist materials and LGBT propaganda,” said a source from the Russian state agency.
Many Western film companies and streaming services refused to work in Russia after the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine. Disney, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Netflix and others have left the country. Films produced by them are shown in cinemas in the format of “pre-screening”.
