Basta’s performances in Stavropol demanded to be canceled
TG channel Shot citing a source, he said that the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation received two applications demanding that Basta’s (Vasily Vakulenko) concert in Stavropol be canceled because of his unpatriotic statements.
There was information that the department had already initiated an audit. The concert was scheduled for June 8, but local activists say the performer shouldn’t have been “disparaging” of Russia’s actions. They don’t want an artist to make money off the city’s residents if he admits the possibility of his leaving the country.
The reason for the dissatisfaction of the activists was the statement made by Basta in an interview with Nastya Ivleeva. The singer admitted that, of course, he thought about whether he should leave the country after some of his colleagues. Basta said that he could not do this because many people who work for him depend on him. In addition, he is physically and mentally connected with Russia and cannot go abroad for a long time.
Also, his wife flatly refused to leave the camp. Therefore, Basta said that he would remain and would “watch the movie further.”
