The Ministry of Culture of Georgia explained the cancellation of the concerts of Galkin, Meladze and Makarevich

The Ministry of Culture of Georgia has responded to accusations of an allegedly political reason for the cancellation of concerts by Russian artists who criticized the special operation in Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that the Time Machine group (its leader Andrei Makarevich was introduced by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation to the register of foreign agents), humorist Maxim Galkin and singer Valery Meladze were supposed to perform at the old Sports Palace in Tbilisi, but the autumn concerts were canceled. The site attributed the cancellation to renovations, but one of the Georgian ticketing services suggested that this was a false explanation. The service published an open letter in which he stated that he did not believe in the voluntary refusal of the site, taking into account the consequences for it – loss of profit and reputational costs, writes RBC.
The Ministry of Culture of Georgia responded to the claims, stating that it had no opportunity to influence a private site and that all decisions made by its owners were outside the competence of officials. The ministry also said they were managing a new Sports Palace and that the facility opened in the summer with a concert in support of Ukraine. Therefore, “any attempts to manipulate this sensitive topic are futile.”
