The names of artists who left Russia for political reasons disappear from posters, as Russian society requires. This is how the Ministry of Culture reacted to reports that in the Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT) his name disappeared from the posters of performances based on the texts of Boris Akunin.
“The Ministry of Culture of Russia receives a large number of applications from citizens who are outraged by the presence of such figures in the information and advertising materials of state institutions,” the ministry said in a statement (quoted from “Interfax”).
Earlier it became known that from the website of the Moscow RAMT theater, where there are four performances of the writer and playwright Boris Akunin, from posters of events disappeared his name. The artistic director of the theater explained the situation as pressure from the authorities. Since the mid-2000s, Mr. Akunin has consistently criticized the current Russian leadership, he also condemned the entry of Russian armed forces into Ukraine in February of this year.
