The Ministry of Culture denies the development of a bill to deprive the titles of departed artists

The Ministry of Culture of Russia denies information about the development of a bill on the deprivation of the titles of artists who have gone abroad. This was reported Interfax, TASS and “RIA News” with reference to the press service of the ministry. Earlier, the development of such a document was reported by the Telegram channel Mash.

“This is not true information. The cancellation of the decree on conferring such awards is already regulated by law, and the Ministry of Culture is not developing any additional bills, ”the ministry told reporters.

According to Mash, the authorities even have plans to cancel the assignment of citizenship to artists.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov in April urged not to “record in the fifth column” those who “feared, did not understand” the decision of the authorities on the military operation in Ukraine. According to Mr. Peskov, the artists who left Russia did not become enemies of the state.

In October Dmitry Peskov declaredthat in Russia there is no tendency to ban performances and works of art by authors who have left the country. Ministry of Culture explained the disappearance of the names of the cultural figures who left from the posters by the “appeal of citizens”.
