The Ministry of Agriculture may come up with an initiative to increase the export duty on soybeans from the current 20% to 50% as early as 2023. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut at a meeting with the largest oilseed processors on January 18, two participants told Vedomosti. In particular, representatives of the Sodruzhestvo Group of Companies, the Rusagro Group of Companies, the Efko Group of Companies and others were present there. The “prohibitive rate” may come into force in 2025, Vedomosti’s interlocutors refer to Lut’s words.
The representative of the Ministry of Agriculture did not respond to a request from Vedomosti. But information about such a meeting and its agenda was confirmed by a representative of the Oil and Fat Union.
