The Russian Ministry of Agriculture proposed to establish a ban on the export of rice from the country from January 1 to June 30, 2024. This is stated in a document published on portal draft regulatory legal acts.
Export restrictions include rice (code 1006 of the unified HS of the EAEU) and rice cereals (code 1103 19 500 0 of the unified HS of the EAEU). The Ministry of Economy, as stated in the resolution, must notify the Eurasian Economic Commission about the introduction of the ban. It is clarified that the restrictions will not apply to supplies to the EAEU countries, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
July 29 Russian government banned export of rice until the end of 2023. Initially, export restrictions were introduced for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2022.
