One of Russia’s largest importers and producers of alcohol, Ladoga (Tsarskaya vodka, Barrister gin, Fowler’s whiskey, etc.), intends to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) in 2025. This was announced by the president and co-owner of the company Veniamin Grabar in an interview RBC.
In preparation for the listing, Ladoga is supported by Sberbank (MOEX: SBER), VTB (MOEX: VTBR) and “Absolute”. According to Veniamin Grabar, Ladoga is now preparing to place its debut bond issue worth 2 billion rubles. As the president of the company explained, this is necessary “to gain practice in publicity.”
Mr. Grabar expects that by the time the IPO is held, the Russian stock market will have partially recovered. “Companies in our industry are close and understandable to investors; people see our product, can hold it in their hands and even try it. They understand perfectly well what is being produced and what is being sold. I believe that the future for the open market is companies that are understandable to physical investors,” said the Ladoga president.
Before the placement of shares, the company’s main task will be to increase capitalization, noted the president of Ladoga. By 2025, according to Mr. Grabar’s forecast, the value of Ladoga should be at least 30–33 billion rubles, maximum – 40 billion rubles. (with EBITDA of 6–8 billion rubles).
Ladoga is one of the largest producers and importers of alcohol in Russia. The company was founded in 1995 in St. Petersburg. The main brands that the enterprise produces are Tsarskaya, Imperial Collection, Tsarskoe Selo, Czars Original, Zver, Prestige, Ladoga Khlebnaya vodkas, Barrister and Ancient gins, Love Story liqueurs. . At the end of 2022, Ladoga’s revenue increased by 46.4%, to 20.08 billion rubles, net profit – by 5.3 times, to 1.03 billion rubles, EBITDA – by 3.1 times, to 2.15 billion rubles
In November, Ladoga became the exclusive distributor of Porto Cruz port wine, which ranks first in sales in the world, but has not been officially present in Russia for the last two years. As the company told Kommersant, during the first year of partnership Ladoga plans to import at least 30 thousand liters of the drink, which will allow Porto Cruz to enter the top 10 in sales in the category in Russia.
