The leader has changed in the ranking of the largest vodka producers

Alcoholic beverages producer Tatspirtprom (produces Tundra, Russian Currency, Khanskaya vodka) ranked first in terms of vodka production in the first quarter of 2023. About it informed “Kommersant” with reference to the data of market participants.
The Tatarstan government-owned company increased vodka output by 8% yoy to 2.05 million decalitres. However, ranked first Beluga Group (Beluga, Arkhangelskaya, Belenkaya, etc.) reduced its output by 11%, to 1.98 million decaliters, and dropped to second place.
In total, 15.8 million decalitres of vodka were produced in Russia, which is 8% less compared to the first quarter of 2022. A decrease in production was also recorded in other players. In particular, the Alcoholic Siberian group (White Birch, Five Lakes, Husky) produced 1.33 million deciliters of vodka (-16%), the Traditions of Success group of companies (Khorta) — 1.28 million decaliters (-21%), GC “Rust” (“Russian standard”, “Green Mark”, “Parliament”) – 1.23 million decalitres (-27%). The Kaluga plant “Kristall” increased production the most – by 71%, up to 346,000 dal.
Beluga Group did not provide comments. Tatspirtprom explained the overall decline in vodka production with a high base in 2022 and poor March results. The ASG added that last year the demand was rush: chains bought a lot of products, and buyers stocked up on vodka for future use.
