Egg prices are unlikely to fall, said the general director of the Rospoultry Union, Galina Bobyleva. According to her, now the price from manufacturers is kept at the level of 95–105 rubles, and the rest is the costs of retail chains and the inevitable trade markup.

“The egg won’t get any cheaper. In my opinion, the established prices are 110–125 rubles. for ten – absolutely normal, fair and adequate for this product,” said Ms. Bobyleva “Parliamentary newspaper”.

By the end of 2023, chicken eggs increased in price by 40%; they became more expensive in 46 regions of the Russian Federation. President Vladimir Putin argued that the reason for the increase in prices for chicken meat and eggs was an increase in demand. In December, eggs from Azerbaijan began arriving in Russia; in January came batch of Turkish eggs.
