The Chairman of the Government of Chechnya, Muslim Khuchiev, spoke about the republic’s plans to create a joint airline with Iran. He added that he discussed this idea with the CEO of the Iranian airline Mahan Air, Arabnejad Hanuki Hamid Hossein.
“The cooperation of the Chechen Republic with Iran, in addition to the establishment of regular air services, also involves the creation of a joint airline to reduce the cost of air travel and an aircraft industrial cluster for the aviation industry of Russia and Iran,” Mr. Khuchiev wrote in Telegram channel.
He added that the republic’s cooperation with Iran is being carried out to establish regular flights. It, according to Muslim Khuchiev, will strengthen trade, economic and cultural ties of the regions and will contribute to the development of tourism.
On December 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in the Kremlin. At the meeting, which lasted more than five hours, representatives of the countries discussed bilateral relations and issues on the international agenda.
