On the morning of August 23, LUKOIL, Fortuna and Gazprom Neft gas stations in Donetsk, Rostov Region, ran out of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, said the head of the city administration, Roman Kuraev, in his Telegram channel.
“At all gas stations, a reserve for special vehicles has been made. This situation in the city is not an isolated case. This is the situation in the region as a whole. We reported this to the government to the curator, Deputy Minister of Industry of the region Vladimir Klimenko,” said Roman Kuraev in audio messages that were later deleted.
A little later, the head of administration published a text message stating that by 11:00 a.m. AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline was available at LUKOIL gas stations in sufficient quantities.
“According to the information of the leaders, the remaining gas stations are expected to receive fuel in the coming hours,” wrote Roman Kuraev.
The day before, the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Rostov Region reported, which controls the situation with increased demand for fuel in the region. According to the authorities, the increased demand is caused by the work of an alternative route to the Crimea through the Rostov region and new regions, an increase in tourist flow and seasonal agricultural work. It was noted that existing stocks would last for seven to ten days.
The lack of fuel in a number of Russian regions is caused by a delay in deliveries by rail. Railways of Russian Railways were overloaded due to the need to reorient coal exports from western directions to the east.
