The head of Duracell Russia confirmed the information about the departure of the brand from Russia – Kommersant

Duracell Russia CEO Yuri Korotaev confirmed to the Telegram channel “Climb” the authenticity of the letter in which he announces the company’s withdrawal from the Russian Federation. Earlier, a letter from Mr. Korotaev addressed to Duracell business partners was published by the Telegram channel Mash. At the same time, a representative of one of the official Duracell dealers in Russia, Colors Group LLC, said TASSthat the company did not receive notifications about the termination of Duracell’s work in the Russian Federation.

“Dear business partners, hereby DURACELL RUSSIA LLC expresses to you (business partners.— “b”) respectfully and with great regret announces that our shareholders have announced the withdrawal from the Russian market and the termination of the Duracell business in Russia in accordance with Russian laws and regulations, ”says the letter published by Mash.

In the letter, Mr. Korotaev also asks business partners to provide Duracell with documents for final settlements. Duracell will stop selling any of the company’s products in Russia, terminate all commercial contracts in the Russian Federation unilaterally and sell off stocks of goods remaining in Russia, the CEO said.

“This is a genuine letter, but I will not be able to comment. Ecological projects will remain, we are now discussing the details,” Mr. Korotaev told Podyom, commenting on the publication of Mash.

Duracell has been making batteries, accumulators and household batteries since the 1930s. The company is owned by the American holding Berkshire Hathaway. In May 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade added Duracell to the list of goods allowed for parallel imports, but on July 4 expelled a company from the list, because it continued to work in the Russian Federation.
