Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree increasing the subsidized discount on the purchase of agricultural machinery for farmers in the Far East and four new regions. Document published on the Cabinet website.

The discount for agricultural producers in the Far East will increase from 15 to 20%. For the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye, Kaliningrad regions, Crimea and regions of the Siberian Federal District, the discount will be 15%. For other subjects of the Russian Federation – 10%. It is planned that such a measure will help level out the costs of transporting equipment to remote regions.

“We hope that the decision made will help increase the competitiveness of agricultural producers and machine builders, reduce their dependence on import purchases, and our citizens will be provided with high-quality food products,” Mishustin said at a government meeting on November 9.

In total, 8 billion rubles will be spent on providing the industry with agricultural machinery in 2023.

“Almost 6,000 Russian and Belarusian tractors are planned to be delivered to the regions in the next two months. Farmers will be able to purchase them at fixed prices with discounts that will allow them to save up to one fifth of the market cost of the product. These funds will be compensated from the federal budget,” added Mishustin.

The government launched a mechanism for subsidizing discounts on the purchase of agricultural machinery in 2013. The measure applies to tractors, combines, mowers, sprayers, and cultivators. The mechanism was created not only to support farmers, but also equipment manufacturers, helping them increase sales volumes.

In June, the Rosspetsmash Association, which unites 240 manufacturing companies of domestic agricultural and other special machinery and equipment, asked The Russian government will provide enterprises in the sector with benefits similar to those in force for IT companies. A corresponding letter was sent to Mishustin. It was about providing benefits on insurance premiums and taxes.
