The Russian government has extended the permit for Yamal LNG to supply liquefied natural gas to the German company Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE, the nationalized former Gazprom Germania) until December 31, 2040, it follows from orders government on the portal for the official publication of legal acts. Previously, the permit was valid until December 31, 2024.

Gazprom came out from the capital of Gazprom Germania in the spring of 2022. After this the company moved on under the temporary control of the German authorities and was renamed SEFE. In November Germany announced on the nationalization of the former subsidiary of Gazprom.

In response to nationalization, the Russian government imposed sanctions on SEFE, after which Yamal LNG could no longer sell gas to the Indian Gail under a long-term contract with Gazprom Germania, valid until 2041. In May 2022, the Russian government issued Yamal LNG a temporary permit (90 days) to interact with SEFE in order not to interrupt supplies to India. June 13, 2023 government extended permission until December 31, 2024.
