The share of the British-Dutch oil and gas company Shell in the LNG project is 94.8 billion rubles, follows from a government decree. The company refused to apply for participation in the project after Sakhalin-2 was transferred to Russian jurisdiction.
Shell announced plans to withdraw from the Sakhalin-2 project after Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine. In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of a Russian operator for the project, which was the specially created Sakhalin Energy.
