The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency announced new flights of Russian companies

Russian airlines Azimut and Red Wings will begin operating new flights to Georgia, the republic’s civil aviation agency reported on social networks.
Azimuth received permission for charter flights from Mineralnye Vody to Tbilisi in the second half of October once a week, from Sochi to Tbilisi on October 11-28 twice a week, and from Moscow to Batumi on October 9-26 twice a week.
Red Wings Airlines received permission to operate flights Zhukovsky – Tbilisi – Zhukovsky five days a week from the beginning of the winter navigation season (October 29). The agency recalled that flight permits are issued only to airlines that are not subject to EU sanctions.
On May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the resumption of air traffic with Georgia, which was stopped in the summer of 2019. In addition, by a separate decree, from May 15, he abolished the visa regime for Georgian citizens. Several airlines from both sides have already received permission to operate flights in this direction.
On May 19, the first commercial plane in four years departed from Moscow for Tbilisi. The flight was operated by Azimuth, which on May 15 received permission from the Georgian authorities to operate flights to the republic. On May 20, a Georgian Airways flight flew to Moscow from the Georgian capital.
