A criminal case has been opened in the Samara region regarding the disclosure of trade secrets at AvtoVAZ. The initiator was the regional department of the FSB, reports “RIA News” with reference to the department’s message.
According to investigators, the design engineer “out of selfish interest” provided third parties with information constituting a trade secret. The information was entrusted to a work colleague. A criminal case was initiated under the article on illegal receipt and disclosure of information constituting commercial, tax or banking secrets (Part 3 of Article 183 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The maximum penalty is imprisonment for five years.
As the FSB notes, AvtoVAZ is an industry-forming enterprise and is included in the list of strategic ones. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved. No other details are provided.
