The total wealth of the richest Russian businessmen increased by $18.293 billion in three months of 2024, according to the rating data Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI). The fortune of the co-founder of Eurochem and SUE Andrei Melnichenko increased the most - by $5.29 billion, to $24.1 billion. The greatest losses were suffered by the founder of USM Holdings, Alisher Usmanov, whose fortune decreased by $2.8 billion, to $18.3 billion.
The top 10 richest Russians from BBI include:
- co-owner of Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin (since the beginning of the year, his fortune has increased by $768 million, to $31.8 billion);
- NLMK beneficiary Vladimir Lisin (+$2.91 billion, up to $26.9 billion);
- co-owner of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson (decrease by $747 million to $26.7 billion);
- co-owner of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov (+$1.79 billion, up to $26.4 billion);
- Severstal beneficiary Alexey Mordashov (+$3.75 billion, up to $24.6 billion);
- Andrey Melnichenko (+$5.29 billion, up to $24.1 billion);
- Alisher Usmanov (-$2.8 billion, up to $18.3 billion);
- Mikhail Prokhorov (+$1.38 billion, up to $17.1 billion);
- founder of Alfa Group Mikhail Fridman (+$1.21 billion, up to $13.5 billion);
- co-owner of NOVATEK and Sibur Gennady Timchenko (-$1.45 billion, up to $12.7 billion).
According to a ranking by the Chinese research institute Hurun, published in March, Russia added six dollar billionaires over the past year. This allowed her to remain in the top 10 - in seventh place with 76 billionaires. The authors of the rating also note the growing “migration of billionaires”: the USA, Great Britain, Switzerland and Singapore are among the most preferred countries.
