At 13:57, the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft of Azimut Airlines landed at Krasnodar airport, the press service of the Aerodinamika Group of Companies told Kommersant. This is the first flight to arrive at the airport since February 2022, when the airport was closed for security reasons due to the SVO. The flight from Mineralnye Vody was a test flight and there were no passengers on board.

The Krasnodar airport management assesses the state of the infrastructure as ideal. “All services are operating as normal. All infrastructure at the airport was maintained in perfect condition. We are ready for the possible opening and resumption of flights at our airport,” the press service of Aerodinamika Group of Companies quotes the words of airport director Dmitry Kirichenko.

After the outbreak of hostilities in the south of Russia and in the border regions, 11 airports were closed: in Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Elista, Lipetsk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh and Simferopol. On December 13, it became known that Krasnodar authorities are considering the possibility of opening Pashkovsky airport.

For more information about when the airport in Krasnodar will be able to accept flights again, see the Kommersant FM article. “South of Russia opens the sky”.
