The Finnish company Metso Outotec, which develops technologies for processing raw materials, has completed its withdrawal from Russia, according to its press release. The company clarified that it had not received new orders from Russia since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
“In order to expedite the termination of pre-war contracts, the company began negotiations with its non-sanctioned customers… This process was completed in the first quarter of 2023, and since then Metso Outotec has ceased cooperation with Russia. To cover the costs of the winddown process, the company registered a one-time payment of €150 million in the second quarter of 2022,” Metso Outotec said.
Metso Outotec was formed in 2020 after the merger of Outotec and Metso’s Minerals division. The company develops technologies for processing raw materials for enterprises in the mining and processing and metallurgical industries. She, in particular, was supposed to supply equipment for a floating version of the mining and processing plant (GOK) for the Pavlovsky deposit on the Yuzhny Island of Novaya Zemlya, but the company eventually stopped cooperation with the Russian side. Because of this, Rosatom refused from the floating GOK.
