The finale of the series “Words of a Boy” will be reshot – Kommersant

The creators of the series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt,” based on the book by Robert Garayev, they decided to reshoot the ending. The release of the last episode was scheduled for December 21, but now it will take place a few days later, but before the New Year. Director Zhora Kryzhovnikov announced this in an address to Telegram channel online cinema Wink.

“We decided to reshoot the eighth episode because the already released episodes lived with you. And around the third episode we realized that we wanted to end this story differently. Andrey Zolotarev (co-author of the series) and I rewrote, came, convinced, received additional funding so that the eighth episode would be cooler, more emotional, sharper than what we had done before,” said the director.

However, he noted that the decision to reshoot the last episode was not related to censorship. “If there was pressure on us and someone didn’t like something in what we did, we would rather cut it out than reshoot it,” he added.

As Zhora Kryzhovnikov reported, the seventh episode was also partially reshot: it is slightly different from the previous version, it was re-edited and completed in terms of sound, image, and graphics. The eighth series, according to him, is fundamentally different.

The release date of the final episode will be announced later. Co-author of the series Andrey Zolotarev also noted in a video message that the creators of the series are aware of the leak of the last two episodes of the project to the network. However, he noted that the episodes were published “in such a state that I just feel sorry for the viewers who watch it.”

The series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt” was released in online cinemas on November 9. It is based on the book “The Boy’s Word. Criminal Tatarstan 1970 – 2010s” by Robert Garayev and talks about teenage gangs in Kazan during perestroika in the USSR. Today the series ranks 47th in the Kinopoisk rating of the best series. The series has already become scandalous. The Tatarstan authorities believe that “such films do not lead to anything good.” Children’s Ombudsman of Tatarstan Irina Volynets believes that the series “romanticizes the image of a criminal.” She filed a complaint with Roskomnadzor, but according to the results of the inspection, the agency found no violations didn’t find.

On December 12, amid negative statements about the series from officials, the National Media Group, NMG Studio and the Wink.ru video service announced the launch of the social and educational project “The Boys Are Changing” (boys are changing.rf). The goal of the project is to help parents and teenagers in difficult life situations.
