The Federation Council approved at a meeting a law on fines for the deliberate destruction of a ship. Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) provide for fines for such an act – up to 5 million rubles. for citizens and up to 20 million rubles. for legal entities.
If the owner of the sunken vessel violates the deadlines for sending the relevant notification, then the fine for citizens will be in the amount of 100 thousand to 300 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 300 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.
For violation of the deadlines for the start of the removal of the sunken ship, the fine for citizens will be from 300 thousand to 1 million rubles, for legal entities – from 3 million to 5 million rubles.
Intentional flooding of a vessel in the water area of the Northern Sea Route or on inland waterways is also punishable by a fine. For citizens, it will be from 3 million to 5 million rubles, for legal entities – from 15 million to 20 million rubles.
State Duma deputies adopted amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses in the first and second readings December 15 2021 and December 6 current year, respectively.
