The Federal Tax Service has denied the hacking of the Russian tax system by Ukrainian hackers

The Federal Tax Service (FTS) told Kommersant that the information about the hacking of the Russian tax system is not true. Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR) announced the “destruction of the infrastructure” of Russian tax services. It was alleged that both the configuration files and the entire database and its backup copies were destroyed.
The Federal Tax Service notes that today “some Internet resources” published data that Ukrainian hackers infected all the agency’s servers with malicious software. “Currently, all services of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the official website and other channels of interaction both with other departments and with taxpayers are operating as usual. The disseminated information about the destruction of data and the capture of traffic does not correspond to reality,” says the Federal Tax Service in its response to Kommersant.
The agency notes that there are no failures in the work of the Federal Tax Service and no complaints have been received from users. “All taxpayer data, as well as the infrastructure of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, are still safe and reliably protected,” the Federal Tax Service emphasized.
