The Federal Tax Service filed a claim in the Moscow Arbitration Court against IKEA Torg LLC, which belongs to the Swedish IKEA, for 12.9 billion rubles, it follows from card indexes arbitration cases. The reasons for the claim are not specified.
TASS, citing data from SPARK-Interfax, reports that IKEA Torg still belongs to the holding structure of the Swedish chain – Ingka Holdings. Before IKEA left the Russian market, IKEA Torg was the exclusive importer of the retailer’s goods.
IKEA closed its stores in Russia in March 2022. In June, IKEA announced the sale of four of its factories in Russia, and also announced a reduction in business in the country. A TASS source claimed that IKEA expects to return to Russia within two years. In February 2023, a government commission approved sale of three of four Russian IKEA factories.
