Production at the Danone plant in Samara continues as usual. As Kommersant was told in the press service of the regional government, the regional Ministry of Agriculture is in constant contact with representatives of the enterprise.
“In the next few months, no changes in activities are expected, and the further development of the situation will depend on the decisions made by the new owner,” the press service said.
Formerly a French dairy company announced, which will transfer control over Russian business. Danone is the leader in the production of dairy products in Russia.
In the first nine months of 2022, the Essential Dairy and Plant-based business accounted for about 5% of Danone’s net sales. According to information on the official website, the company owns 18 enterprises in Russia. More than 10 thousand people work for them. At the beginning of March there were suspended investment projects in Russia. The company promised to keep the production of dairy products and baby food.
The first plant built in Russia by the French food corporation Danone appeared in the Samara region. The yogurt production site in Togliatti earned 108,907 in 1995. In 2014, the company accepted the decision to stop production activities at this enterprise. Production was moved to factories in Samara and Chekhov.
