The export of passenger cars from China to Russia has grown almost six times in seven months

Export of passenger cars from Russia to China in January-July amounted to more than 405 thousand units. This is 5.7 times more than in 2022. This was announced by the General Administration of Customs of China, the message leads TASS.
In value terms, the volume of exports for the seven months of 2023 increased by 7.5 times, amounting to $5.65 billion. Russia accounts for 14% of all exports of Chinese cars. In terms of the volume of purchases of cars, Russia ranks first.
In July, 79.6 thousand cars were delivered to Russia from China, which is 2% more than in June. In value terms, the volume of exports for the month amounted to $1.06 billion, which is 3.4% more than in June.
By the end of 2022, 46 out of 60 auto brands left the Russian automotive market, which led to a 60% drop in annual sales to 687,000 vehicles. The departure of foreign brands led to an increase in sales in the Chinese car segment. In the first half of 2023, the supply of Chinese cars to Russia in price equivalent grew up almost 6.5 times ($4.6 billion) compared to last year ($715 million).
