Actress Alena Khmelnitskaya commented on the latest events in the world of culture, which caused loud controversy in the ranks of Russian citizens with, as is commonly believed, a patriotic position, and those whom the latter sometimes call “traitors”. “Dismissal” of People’s Artist Liya Akhedzhakova from Sovremennik and inclusion of the singer Zemfira to the register of foreign agents caused criticism, including from those who are inclined to support the official course of the Russian government.
On the social network, Khmelnytskaya spoke out in support of Akhedzhakova, assuring: “You are indispensable from our hearts.” Turning already to the management of the theater, the artist was indignant: “In Sovremennik” is there someone alive? Aw! What are you doing? Are you OK and normal? Youth!”
After posts in support of Akhedzhakova on a social network banned in the Russian Federation, Khmelnitskaya published an excerpt from Zemfira’s song “Wait for me.”
The ex-wife of director Tigran Keosayan, now married to RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and producing patriotic content, was far from the only artist who supported Akhedzhakova. How noticed “Fontanka”, “cancelled” in the native theater, the actress was supported by colleagues “on opposite sides of the barricades.” For example, the honored artist Stanislav Sadalsky stood up for her, noting that he himself was “on the list of enemies of Ukraine” and that Akhedzhakova “cannot stand him.” The publicist Igor Maltsev, included in the sanctions list of Ukraine, said that “this is not the case,” and noted that “Medzhidovna, by the way, did not whistle (abroad – MK).”
Earlier, the Polish actress Barbarau Brylska, who also stood up for her colleague, was proposed in the State Duma remove from “Irony of Fate” using a neural network and replace her face with someone else.
