The Estonian platform filed a lawsuit against the Central Bank and Airloans MFO – Kommersant

The investment platform Iuvo Group from Estonia filed a lawsuit against the Russian Central Bank and the microfinance company Airloans (Kviku brand). On the case in card index The Moscow Arbitration Court drew the attention of the newspaper “Vedomosti”. The preliminary hearing will be held on March 5.

The Iuvo Group includes the p2p platform Iuvo Credit, through which individuals invest in loans from financial organizations. The essence and size of the claims have not yet been disclosed, but, as follows from the court file, Airloans has already filed a claim against Iuvo Credit.

The reason for the claim was the replacement of a loan by MFO Airloans with bonds in the amount of 298.4 million rubles. The MFO decided to use this format for paying off debts “due to changes in the political and economic situation in the country, it was impossible to fulfill these obligations by transferring funds to an unfriendly country and to the specified counterparty.” A presidential decree allowed MFOs to do this without the consent of creditors.

In the Arbitration Court, Airloans tried to terminate the pledge agreement. On December 11, the Appeal redirected the case to the court of first instance, and on December 29, the court accepted the claim of Iuvo Group against the MFO and the Bank of Russia.

Airloans is engaged in a similar dispute with the Latvian company Sia Mintos Finance, which also did not agree with this method of paying the debt. The hearing on the case is scheduled to take place on January 29.
