The dollar exchange rate dropped below 90 rubles – Kommersant

The RTS index on the Moscow Exchange rose by 1.28% to 1103.66 points. It crossed the 1,100 point mark for the first time since December 1, 2023. The Moscow Exchange index fell by 0.26% to 3,150.41 points. The dollar as of 14:08 fell by 137%, to 89.9 rubles/$. The euro exchange rate falls in price by 1.71%, to 98.3 rubles/€. The yuan is falling in price by 1.45%, to 12.5 rubles.

The dollar ended 2023 at 90.36 rubles/$, having added almost 20.5 rubles over 12 months. (29.3%). This was the worst annual result since 2014, when, under the influence of sanctions and falling oil prices, the American currency increased by 23 rubles over the year, to 55.9 rubles/$. Overall, the Russian stock market over the past year increased by 43.87%.
