Dubbing director Vyacheslav Maksakov died at the age of 76 on October 5, reported TASS with reference to the Guild of Film Directors of Russia. The cause of death has not been specified. According to the Telegram channel Mash, he died of a heart attack. With the participation of Vyacheslav Maksakov, “Dogma”, “Cocaine”, “Van Helsing”, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” were voiced.
“Slava Maksakov was a very good person. He was the second director for many years. He was a wonderful man. He taught with us. It’s a pity,” said director general of the Mosfilm film concern and film director Karen Shakhnazarov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Vyacheslav Maksakov was born on September 27, 1947 in Moscow. In 1973, he graduated from Lev Kuleshov’s workshop at the directing department of VGIK. He worked as an assistant director and actor in Nikita Mikhalkov’s films “Unfinished Piece for Mechanical Piano” and “The Barber of Siberia.”
