The decline in metallurgy led to a crisis in the scrap procurement industry
[ad_1]
The collection of ferrous scrap in Russia in January-July 2022 decreased by 33% to 11.9 million tons year-on-year, according to the materials of the Ruslom.com association (which unites companies for the collection and processing of scrap), which were reviewed ” Vedomosti”. The reasons are a decrease in demand for raw materials from metallurgical enterprises and a reduction in exports due to quotas and duties on the export of scrap, according to the materials.
According to the association, scrap collection sank the most in the Northwestern (-68% to 588,000 t) and Far Eastern (-61% to 452,000 t) federal districts. The number of jobs due to the fall in scrap collection in the Russian Federation decreased by almost 20,000 people, and taking into account related industries – by almost 100,000. At the time of submission of the material, the Ministry of Labor did not respond to Vedomosti’s request.
