The Mezhdurechensky City Court issued a ruling on administrative punishment under Art. 9.1 Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Violation of industrial safety requirements or conditions of licenses for carrying out activities in the field of industrial safety of hazardous production facilities”) in relation to PJSC Raspadskaya. The company said it plans to resume full production in the coming days and is now eliminating violations.
As reported in his Telegram channel Rostekhnadzor official representative Andrey Vil, for the lack of “measures at the mine to reduce endogenous fire hazards and dust suppression equipment at installations during the operation of which dust formation occurs,” the court suspended excavation in longwall 4–6–37 of the Raspadskaya mine in Mezhdurechensk, except for maintenance work equipment of the mechanized complex in working condition, for 90 days. In total, from September 7 to 13, inspectors of the Siberian Department of Rostekhnadzor drew up ten protocols on a temporary ban on activities in Kuzbass coal mines, Andrey Vil also reports.
The Raspadskaya mine was launched in December 1973 and has more than 1.2 billion tons of balance reserves. As indicated on the website of PJSC Raspadskaya, the mine’s design capacity is 7.5 million tons of coal per year, the length of the existing mine workings is more than 220 km. Mining is carried out at a depth of about 600 m.
