The court refused to recover 4.2 billion rubles from Severnaya Verf. in favor of the Ministry of Defense

The Moscow Arbitration Court rejected the claim of the Ministry of Defense to recover more than 4.2 billion rubles. from the St. Petersburg shipyard “Severnaya Verf”, owned by the United Shipbuilding Corporation. This follows from the published solutions court.

Initially, the Ministry of Defense demanded 240 million rubles. penalties under the government contract dated March 25, 2010 for the construction of three Project 22350 frigates. Then the amount of the claim increased.

Taking into account additional agreements, Severnaya Verf was supposed to deliver one of the ships worth about 28.3 billion rubles. in October 2022. However, the ship was not delivered on time, after which the Ministry of Defense filed a lawsuit in April.

Representatives of Severnaya Verf reported in court that the Ministry of Defense had not revised the current price for any order, and therefore the underfunding under the contract exceeded 18 billion rubles.

The court of first instance agreed with the defendant and ruled that at the time of the end date of the contract, the replacement of the television broadcasting system with equipment without imported components and the delay of a number of components on the part of the co-contractors were not taken into account.

The court also found that the company was able to ensure the installation and delivery of equipment 3-4 times faster than the standard deadlines, and on November 26, 2022, the ship began sea trials.
