The court recovered 83.8 billion rubles from Shishkhanov in favor of Digital Invest

The Moscow Arbitration Court ruled to recover more than 83.85 billion rubles from the ex-owner of Binbank, Mikail Shishkhanov. in favor of Digital Invest. This should from the court ruling.

The court declared Digital Invest bankrupt in January 2020. The company was engaged in issuing bonds. In April 2021, the court brought Shishkhanov to subsidiary liability, as he is the beneficiary of the company. According to the court, 99.9% of the company belonged to Shishkhanov’s company Foaliri Trading Limited, registered in Cyprus. In March 2023, the court received an application to determine the amount of subsidiary liability of a businessman. RUB 83.85 billion was included in the register of claims of the company’s creditors. It was in this amount that the court determined the amount of Shishkhanov’s liability.

From court documents shouldthat Digital Invest conducted a number of transactions that were aimed at withdrawing assets to companies controlled by the businessman. We are talking about issuing loans to Burglen Finance Limited in the amount of more than 44.42 billion rubles. In return, the debtor received shares in Grossgrove Limited, but their market value was only 1.2 billion rubles. The documents say that the loan was also issued by Foaliri Trading Limited. Its size amounted to 12.1 billion rubles. The transactions were not justified and led to a loss of 10.8 billion rubles.

In early May, Trust Bank filed a $1 billion lawsuit with the High Court of the British Virgin Islands against large international traders and companies of Mikail Shishkhanov. The Trust lawsuit alleges that from 2013 to 2017, Shishkhanov, being in collusion with international agricultural and commodity traders (Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, Bunge, Quadra, Xangbo and Liberty Commodities), hid the withdrawal of Binbank funds through a member of the same group with him “Rost Bank” and offshore companies associated with Shishkhanov.
