On April 11, a lawsuit against Aleksey Khotin on behalf of the Yugra Bank, owned by the entrepreneur, was filed by the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA). The amount of claims filed by the DIA exceeds RUB 180 billion.

Mr. Khotin himself has been under house arrest since 2019 – he has been charged under Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (misappropriation or embezzlement on an especially large scale). The investigation believes that the businessman in 2014 put his people in the management positions of the bank “Ugra”, and then for three years with their help he stole the bank’s funds in the amount of 23.6 rubles, issuing knowingly bad loans to controlled firms.
